What is Supergloss?
Supergloss is a semi-permanent dye that boosts your natural hair color while delivering divine shine and super softness. Think of it like a tinted moisturizer, but for your hair, designed to enhance its natural look and feel.
How do I use Supergloss? After shampoo, apply Supergloss to clean, damp hair. Wait 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly (until the water runs clear). Use as often as you'd like to keep the good hair days coming.
I’ve never colored my hair before! Can I use Supergloss?Absolutely! Supergloss is designed for virgin hair to enhance your natural color and shine.
Do I have Virgin Hair?Virgin hair is hair that's never been bleached, highlighted, or chemically processed (ie permed or chemically straightened).
Bleached or highlighted processes work to remove hair’s natural pigment, to lighten your hair color. This makes hair more porous, meaning that there is an increased chance of staining or discoloration.
Still not sure? Send us a message - we'd love to help.
I’ve dyed my hair before - can I use Supergloss?Yes you can, but you'll need to select the right shade for your hair.
If you have bleached or highlighted hair then make sure to choose from our toner and highlights range (Pearl Blonde, Vanilla Lights, Caramel Lights or Cocoa Lights), or go with Sheer Glow for a fully transparent gloss.
The same rules apply if you have colored over previously bleached hair if it has not fully grown out. If this is you, you'll need to choose from our highlights range as other shades may result in discoloration due to any residual underlying bleached sections in your hair.
Can I use Supergloss to go lighter or darker?Afraid not, bestie. Our formula was designed to enhance your natural hair color, rather than transform it. Supergloss doesn't contain ammonia or peroxide, so it won't lighten hair, and we don't recommend using our brunette, black, or red shades to try to darken lighter hair, as this can lead to discoloration. If you're looking to change things up, we'd recommend that you find a permanent color option instead.
Will Supergloss damage my hair?No - no damage over here. Our gentle formula is a semi-permanent color, so it doesn't fundamentally change the structure of your hair. Instead of penetrating into the hair cuticle, the dyes coat the surface of each hair. This means no damage, only the softest, shiniest version of your natural hair.
We formulate for healthier hair - meaning no nasties, that includes no ammonia, parabens, sulfates or silicones.
Does Supergloss cover greys? No, Supergloss isn't designed to cover greys. If that's what you're after, we’d recommend considering a permanent color option instead.
Why doesn't Glaze work on greys? On early greys, where most of the hair strands are still producing melanin, Glaze supergloss can be used to blend away the few grey hairs. However when the majority of hairs are grey and have lost their ability to produce melanin and sebum, the hair becomes drier and more porous. This can lead to uneven or patchy results with a semi-permanent hair color and significant potential for discoloration as the color washes out. Permanent or demi-permanent hair color options are recommended for grey hair.
